Paleo Country Fried Grass-Fed Steak

  • 4 grass-fed cube steaks
  • 1/4 cup coconut flour
  • 1 tsp sea salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • 1-2 cups beef broth
  • 1 onion, sliced
  • 4 tbs olive oil

Season steaks with salt, pepper, onion powder, and garlic powder.  Dredge in coconut flour on both sides.  Shake off extra flour and let steak rest for 5 minutes.  Heat up olive oil in a large skillet over medium high heat.  When pan is hot, add steaks and sear for 5 minutes per side to brown and make a nice crust.  Remove steak from pan.   Reduce heat to medium and add onions.  Cook until softened.  Stir in leftover coconut flour from dredging steaks.  Add in broth and whisk.  Put steaks back in pan and cook for 10 more minutes until sauce thickens.

My kids didn’t really like this dish for some reason.  I served it over spaghetti squash.  My husband and I loved it!

    Where do you get your grass fed steak from? I only ask because I have a hard time finding it locally so I buy grass fed beef online from La Cense Beef. It is so convenient. La Cense is a USDA approved grass fed ranch located in Montana. Check out their new catalog if you ever need a place to get your meat from. The meat is so fresh and tasty. The website is also cool because they have recipes and tips on how to cook the meat.
